I'm no model, so to be completely honest, taking photos in such a high-populated area is somewhat nerve wracking -- I'm not used to so many people being around and watching me when I'm taking photos, so today's shoot challenged my confidence.
The worst part about shooting in the city are the "action photos". Walking across Michigan Ave. where cars will turn regardless if you're in the way or not is honestly quite stressful, I thought that I was going to get honked at!
But regardless of my "modeling" fears, I knew I had to take photos of today's look. Since fall is somewhat here (it's been tricking us Chicagoans because later this week it's supposed to be 80 degrees outside, versus the 50 degree weather we have been experiencing late last week, early this week), it's important to start getting the hang of layering again. For this outfit, I decided to mix textures -- like I normally do when I wear this vest. I thought wearing all black, with the pop of color from my vest would create the perfect almost-fall outfit. Since it's incredibly humid here in Chicago, I decided to wear my hair up in a top-knot and swipe on some dark lips (featuring my custom lipstick color from Finding Ferdinand: "Brunette with a Budget").
This outfit not only screams fall, but also screams "I go to fashion school" and I'm more than ready for fall.
