Last week marked my 2 year anniversary as Brunette with a Budget. 2 years ago, I was a self-conscious 16 year old who dressed to be invisible rather than stand out. But through fashion, I was able to not only ignite my self-esteem but also fall in love with writing about fashion. Brunette with a Budget was a way for me to find myself, and through these past two years I have created content to help my readers find themselves as well.
I hope that when you read my blog, you don't see the fashion and style as something to use to impress others or to gain popularity, but to improve yourself and to stand out from the crowd in a way that portrays who you are.
For those of you who have been with me since the beginning, and for my new readers; here's to 2 years of "Staying Fashionably Confident".
This outfit portrays exactly who I am: whimsical, funky, and colorfully modest. My ensemble incorporates the use of multiple textures and fabrics, from leather to knit. I decided to pair my fishnet tights with this sweater, because the pattern on the tights brought out the crochet detailing in this kaftan knit. I threw on my favorite leather jacket in order to edge up the look, and of course, my black booties.
