As trends recycle, we see hem lenghts go from extra-short to extra-long.  But in this day and age, the trend is somewhere in the middle of those two extremes: midi.

midi (noun):  short for midi-skirt, a skirt that ends at the middle of the calf.

Since I have never been a fan of mini skirts, and have learned to enjoy maxi-skirts (even though I used to despise them, because my height would always make them seem like a "flood-skirt"), midi-skirts are the perfect look for me.

Since the midi-skirt can seem dressy at times, it takes less than any sort of effort in order to make the skirt appear casual and chic.  Today, I decided that I would take my turn on transforming this sophisticated piece into something that was not only simple, but school appropriate.

My accordion style midi-skirt is the perfect look to dress up or down.  Since I am in high school, and didn't want to look too over-dressed, I decided that I would make it cas. by putting on a simple, loose-fitting black tee shirt.  Though by pairing the tee with the skirt made the look extremely minimalistic, it was still missing a touch of WOW.  To finish off the ensemble, I added a gold chain necklace, and I was good to go.
